How Rambhau Mhalgi Prabodhini collects, uses and protects your personal data when you register interest in or apply for the Understanding Transformative Governance Fellowship (Modi@25).

Last updated: 28 October 2026

In brief
  • We collect only what we need to run the Fellowship selection: your contact details, education and application, including your CV.
  • We use it to contact you about the Fellowship and to assess your application. We never sell it.
  • You can ask to see, correct or delete your data, or withdraw your consent, at any time by writing to rmpdelhi@rmponweb.org.

1Who we are

The Understanding Transformative Governance Fellowship is run by Rambhau Mhalgi Prabodhini (“RMP”, “we”, “us”), 136, North Avenue, New Delhi – 110001. RMP decides why and how your personal data is used for the Fellowship, and is the Data Fiduciary for it under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the Digital Personal Data Protection Rules, 2025.

This policy covers this website, the interest form on it, and the detailed Fellowship application form we send you.

2What we collect

When you apply on this website

  • Full name, mobile number (which we may also use on WhatsApp), email address and city
  • Highest qualification
  • Your CV
  • Your answer about why you want to pursue the Fellowship, and your preferred research themes
  • Your consent to be contacted, and the date and time you gave it

If you are invited to interview

  • A writing sample
  • Details of one to three referees: their name, occupation or designation, and contact details
  • The interview time you book

Before giving us a referee’s details, please let them know. We use their details only to ask about your application, and we will tell you before we contact them.

When you respond to our ads on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn or Google

If you fill in a form inside one of these apps, the platform passes us the details you entered there, such as your name, mobile number, email address, city and qualification. We then email you a link to complete your application on this website.

Collected automatically when you submit the form

  • How you reached us: the advertising campaign tags in the link you clicked (such as utm_source or utm_campaign), any advertising click ID from Google or Meta, the page that referred you, and the page you landed on.
  • Technical details: your IP address and your browser and device type, used to block spam and misuse of the form.

While you browse, the site remembers your campaign tags in your browser’s session storage. This is cleared when you close the browser tab. The site does not set its own cookies for visitors.

3Why we use it

  • To send you a link to complete your application, reminders and updates about the Fellowship by email (from utgfellowship@rmponweb.org), phone call, SMS or WhatsApp.
  • To assess applications, shortlist candidates, conduct interviews and select Fellows.
  • To schedule interviews, and to contact your referees about your application, after telling you.
  • To verify the identity and documents of shortlisted and selected candidates.
  • To understand which of our advertisements and outreach bring in applicants, so we can spend our outreach budget well.
  • To keep the website secure and prevent spam.
  • To meet our obligations under law.

We do not use your data for any unrelated purpose. If you would like to hear about future Fellowship cohorts or other RMP programmes, we will ask for your separate consent.

5Who we share it with

We never sell or rent your personal data. We share it only with:

  • The Fellowship selection panel and reviewers, who assess applications.
  • Service providers who work for us under our instructions: our website host, Google (for our email through Google Workspace), and the services we use to send WhatsApp messages.
  • Advertising platforms such as Meta and Google, when we run advertisements. Their measurement tools may tell them that someone who clicked our ad submitted the form, so we can measure results. These tools may use cookies set by those companies, under their own privacy policies.
  • Government authorities or courts, only where the law requires it.

Some of these providers may store data on servers outside India, as permitted under Indian law.

This website uses fonts served by Google, and our Contact page shows a Google Maps map. Loading them shares your IP address with Google.

6How long we keep it

  • If you are not selected, or you register interest but do not apply, we delete your data within 12 months after the 2026–27 selection process ends.
  • If you are selected as a Fellow, we keep your data for the duration of the Fellowship and afterwards for as long as the law requires us to keep records.
  • If you ask us to delete your data, we delete it sooner, unless the law requires us to keep it.

7How we protect it

Your data travels over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection. Entries are stored in a database that only authorised Fellowship staff can open, through a password-protected dashboard. We limit access to the people who need it to run the selection process.

No system is completely secure. If a personal data breach ever affects you, we will inform you and the Data Protection Board of India as the law requires, and tell you what happened and what you can do.

8Your rights

Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you can ask us to:

  • Give you a summary of the personal data we hold about you and how we use it, and tell you who we have shared it with
  • Correct, complete or update your data
  • Delete your data
  • Stop using your data, by withdrawing your consent
  • Resolve a complaint about how we have handled your data
  • Let someone you nominate exercise these rights for you, if you die or become unable to

To make a request, email rmpdelhi@rmponweb.org from the email address you gave us, with the subject line “Personal data request”. Tell us your name, your mobile number and what you would like us to do. We may ask for more details to confirm your identity before acting on the request.

We will respond as soon as possible, and no later than 90 days after receiving your request.

9Children

The Fellowship is for graduates and post-graduates and is not intended for anyone under 18. If you are under 18, please do not submit our forms. If we learn that we have collected data from someone under 18 without verifiable consent from a parent or guardian, we will delete it.

We may update this policy, for example when we change how we contact applicants. The date at the top shows when it last changed. If a change affects how we use data you have already given us, we will tell you by email.
